The Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation will deploy 11 substitute buses related to the subway line 2 derailment that occurred at Sindorim Station on the morning of the 23rd.

According to the corporation, four substitute buses will be deployed first starting from 11:15 a.m., with seven more scheduled to operate.

The bus boarding and disembarking locations include ▲ Exit 2 of Hongdae Entrance Station ▲ Exit 1 of Hapjeong Station ▲ Exit 2 of Dangsan Station ▲ Exit 2 of Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station ▲ Exit 3 of Munrae Station ▲ Exit 1 of Sindorim Station ▲ Exit 3 of Daerim Station ▲ Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station ▲ Exit 1 of Sindebang Station ▲ Exit 1 of Sillim Station ▲ Exit 3 of Bongcheon Station ▲ Exit 6 of Seoul National University Entrance Station, totaling 12 locations.

The deployment of substitute buses is due to the suspension of the outer loop train operation between Hongdae Entrance Station and Seoul National University Entrance Station on line 2. Around 7:50 a.m. that day, a train departing from Sindorim Station on subway line 2 in the Guro district of Seoul collided with a track barrier. A collision with a track barrier occurs when a train passes beyond the designated stopping position and hits a blocking wall installed at the end of the platform or track.

The corporation has been operating an accident response headquarters since 9:35 a.m. that day and continues recovery efforts. A corporation official noted, “The timing for completing the accident recovery is unclear, so it is expected that it will take some time for normal train operations to resume.”
