Goh, acting Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said in a New Year's address on the 2nd, "There should be no hesitation in front of public safety."
Goh noted, "What we need to do in 2025 is clear," stating, "There should be no gaps in responding to disasters such as heavy snow, cold waves, fires, and various accidents."
Goh said, "Last year was a tumultuous year," and "there were many events." Then, Goh noted, "Some of the policies planned at the beginning of the year were achieved," but added, "However, the concerns and worries of the public outweigh this, leaving me with a greater sense of regret and sadness."
Goh said, "Now we begin a new year on the same day," and "We must set our minds to be resolute and determined."
He further stated, "We must firmly establish a mindset of serving the public and being a servant to the whole nation," adding, "We need to strongly support the public's ordinary days and peaceful daily lives stably and securely."
Goh also noted, "We must provide digital administrative services without interruption and stably," adding, "We must firmly establish the status of the world’s No. 1 digital government."
