A legal basis has been established to set up and operate a K-pop (K-POP) school for foreigners in North Jeolla special self-governing province.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 17th that the cabinet meeting approved the enactment of a special act enforcement ordinance for the establishment of North Jeolla special self-governing province and the creation of a global life economy city.
In response to the implementation of the revised North Jeolla special act on the 27th, which includes special provisions on agriculture, environment, human resources, and finance, this newly enacted ordinance specifies 14 delegated matters from the law.
Among the key details, foundational directives have been established for the governor's support necessary for the establishment and operation of the international K-pop (K-POP) school, and specific support items such as initial operating costs and facility construction expenses have also been detailed.
Additionally, it outlined the procedures and methods for establishing a mid- to long-term (10 years) comprehensive plan concerning the creation of the ‘global life economy city,’ which is the vision of North Jeolla.
Furthermore, it detailed the specific procedures and methods related to special provisions within mountain tourism promotion zones, designation of North Jeolla investment promotion zones, and performance evaluations in the environmental sector.
Yeo Joong-hyup, head of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Local Decentralization Bureau, said, “With the enactment of the ordinance, the groundwork for the implementation of special provisions has been established, and we will support the creation of specific outcomes.”
