KT announced on the 8th that the KT University Student IT Supporters (KIT) conducted the first 'mobile artificial intelligence (AI) education' of 2025 at Yeongheung Middle School in Ongjin-gun, Incheon on the 7th.

During this year's first 'mobile AI education,' KIT volunteers provided hands-on training in AI coding platforms and coding robots to the third-year students at Yeongheung Middle School, and engaged in discussions about proper AI usage and digital ethics. They also listened to the common concerns about high school admission and career paths shared by the third-year middle school students, and held a mentoring session to share experiences related to exam preparation.

KIT is a university student IT volunteer group operated by KT to bridge the digital divide between regions. In particular, it has gained popularity among university students as it allows them to take on the role of educators by developing and implementing AI coding curricula with coaching from KT employees and experts, thus gaining preemptive mentoring experience.

Last year, KT and KIT volunteers conducted 'mobile AI education' at Baengnyeong Middle School in Ongjin-gun, Incheon, and Seongdang Middle School in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do. This year, they plan to continuously expand the 'mobile AI education' activities, starting with Yeongheung Middle School.

Oh Tae-sung, executive director of KT's ESG Management Office, noted, 'I hope the future leaders will have the opportunity to grow with a proper understanding of AI through their encounter with KIT university student mentors,' and added, 'KT will continue to support the resolution of digital disparities across various strata and nurture future digital talents.'
