The budget mobile operator Eyes Vision has decided to acquire approximately 160,000 subscribers from Sejong Telecom.

Eyes Vision announced on the 2nd that it has signed a basic agreement with Sejong Telecom for the transfer of budget mobile subscribers. It plans to acquire about 170,000 subscribers, excluding Sejong Telecom's prepaid users. Eyes Vision has approximately 200,000 postpaid subscribers. If the acquisition is completed, it will become the largest small-to-medium budget mobile operator in the country with a cumulative total of 370,000 subscribers.

Unlike the case of Viva Republica (Toss), which acquired the budget mobile corporation Merchant Korea, this time only subscribers are being acquired. Therefore, the specific timing and method for the transfer of subscribers will likely be finalized through discussions.

The Ministry of Science and ICT also requires following a process to establish and submit plans for user protection. An official from Eyes Vision noted, "The protection and enhancement of benefits for Sejong Telecom's budget mobile subscribers will be prioritized," adding, "Although the budget mobile market is challenging, we will achieve economies of scale to enhance our competitiveness and create new business models."
