Park Jin-hyo, president of SK Broadband, forecasted on the 2nd that the competition in the market will be fierce this year and stated that he aims to expand leadership through service differentiation in each institutional sector.
During his New Year’s speech, Park noted, “Despite the fierce competitive environment, we achieved first place in net additions of high-speed internet and paid broadcasting last year and led the growth of the media business through the launch of AI B tv and content bundling products.” He also commented, “The enterprise business has seen an increase in sales, coupled with enhanced execution capabilities, to accelerate the expansion of growth initiatives.”
Park projected, “In 2025, competition in the market will become even fiercer, and with the acceleration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology evolution, customer expectations for services will continue to rise, while various risks due to the instability of international circumstances are also increasing.” He continued, “I believe these challenges can serve as an opportunity to showcase SK Broadband’s strengths, and let’s overcome the challenging environment of 2025 to enhance our competitiveness and secure the company's long-term growth sustainability.”
To this end, Park explained that it is essential to expand and strengthen market leadership through continuous discovery and investment in differentiated competitiveness and services in the areas of wired media, enterprise, and AI data centers. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of promoting O/I (Operation Improvement) 2.0 beyond efficiency improvements to enhance the fundamental competitiveness of the business, embodying O/I within the company, and ensuring comprehensive AI and digital transformation (AT·DT) for not only operational efficiency but also process innovation at customer touchpoints and enhancing competitiveness.
Park urged, “The most important factor in making all these things valuable is the voluntary and active participation of all members,” adding, “If one approaches the challenge as a tiger and believes that an arrow will strike even a stone, then one can overcome any challenging environment with determination and passion.”
