KT Cloud announced on the 23rd that it will appoint a new Deputy Minister of the Cloud and Data Center (DC) division.

Gong Yong-jun, who joined as the Deputy Minister of the Cloud division, has over 20 years of experience in the cloud and AI fields and possesses expertise in related areas such as cloud, AI, and high-performance distributed computing.

Deputy Minister Gong previously served as an open-source data platform architect at SK C&C and held the position of Deputy Minister of the cloud and AI software as a service (SaaS) division at Kakao. He is known for designing and developing innovative services and products in the fields of AI SaaS, cloud architecture, machine learning, and big data, driving business growth and the transition to cloud native and AI native systems. Deputy Minister Heo Young-man, who joined as the DC Deputy Minister, is an expert with experience in data center sales and marketing, consulting, and other DC-related tasks.

Deputy Minister Heo worked at LG CNS for about 26 years, participating in DC and cloud sales and business development, as well as managing overseas corporations and business consulting. He has developed experience in DC business strategy consulting and development advisory roles at the global real estate service company Savills Korea.

KT Cloud plans to pave the way for strengthening IT competitiveness within the group and expanding into multi-cloud business areas through this recruitment of talent in the technology sector and internal organizational restructuring, which includes the establishment of a new MS business division. Kim Seung-woon has been appointed as the head of the MS business division. Kim has held various positions, including the head of KT's IT division's infrastructure services division, head of the infrastructure services team for KT Cloud/IDC project promotion, and head of KT Cloud IDC division, giving him a deep understanding of KT Group's IT infrastructure.
