Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that the benefits of the Gyeonggi transportation subsidy policy, called the 'The Gyeonggi Pass', will also be applied to the Paju Unjeongjungang Station-Seoul Station section of the GTX Line A, which opened on the 28th of last month.
Youth in their 20s and 30s can receive a 30% fare refund, those aged 40 and above can get 20%, and low-income individuals can receive 53% back. The GTX-A line fare starts at 3,200 won with an additional 250 won for every 5 kilometers. Thus, the fare from Paju Unjeongjungang Station to Seoul Station is 4,450 won. When using The Gyeonggi Pass, youth can get a refund of 1,330 won, paying only 3,120 won.
The GTX-A line, following the opening of the Suseo-Dongtan section in March last year, added five more stations on the 28th of last month, including Paju Unjeongjungang Station, Goyang KINTEX Station, Daegok Station, Seoul Yeonsinnae Station, and Seoul Station. The travel time from Paju Unjeongjungang Station to Seoul Station has been significantly reduced from up to 90 minutes with conventional public transportation to 22 minutes.
