According to the university community on the 6th, Kookmin University held a tuition review committee on the 2nd and approved a plan to increase this year's undergraduate tuition by 4.97% compared to the previous year.

The university emphasized in the committee that since tuition had not been increased since 2009 and inflation had risen, most private universities faced limitations, making tuition hikes necessary to increase educational investment.

Previously, Sogang University decided last month to raise undergraduate tuition by 4.85% for the first time in 13 years. It has been reported that major universities in Seoul, such as Yonsei University and Kyunghee University, are also discussing tuition increases.
