The police have launched an investigation after a post threatening to wield a weapon against the acting president was uploaded to an online community bulletin board.
According to the Busan Jin Police Station on the 2nd, a threatening post stating intent to wield a weapon at Choi Sang-mok, acting president and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, was posted on the online community Daily Best Archive (Ilbe) around 7:43 p.m. on Dec. 31 last year.
After informing the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency of the situation, the police requested cooperation. As of now, the identity of the post's author has not been identified.
A police official noted, “A resident of Busanjin-gu reported to the police and an investigation is underway,” adding, “Efforts are focused on identifying and tracking the author’s identity.”
