Thousands of citizens urging President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment gathered at the office of People Power Party lawmaker Park Soo-young in Busan's Nam District on the 28th, holding a protest and continuing a standoff for more than eight hours.

In front of Representative Park's office that afternoon, citizens holding LED candles gathered, shouting slogans such as 'Impeach and arrest Yoon Suk-yeol' and 'Dissolve the People Power Party,' while waving placards. About 60 citizens occupied the office interior and stairs, conducting a sit-in protest.

The protest began at 11 a.m. when about 30 representatives from the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and others visited Representative Park's office, demanding a statement on the civil disturbance issue. At that time, Park was conducting a constituency consultation event.

Amid citizens' protests, Representative Park requested help from the police after retreating into the office, leading citizens to start a sit-in demanding a meeting. As news of the protest spread, more citizens gathered outside the office, and by 4 p.m., participants from the 'Yoon Suk-yeol Arrest and Dismissal Busan Citizens Rally' held in Seomyeon had moved to Park's office, increasing the protest's scale.

Citizen groups estimated the gathered number in front of the office to be around 5,000, while Representative Park's side estimated about 1,700.

The protest concluded after a meeting between Representative Park and the protest leaders. The protesters demanded Park's stance on impeachment, but Park avoided a direct answer, stating, 'It is an issue to be decided by the Constitutional Court.' The delegation confirmed only a difference in stance with Park and declared the continuation of a campaign for Park's resignation.

Regarding this, People Power Party Spokesperson Park Soo-min issued a statement saying, 'Acts of pressure and intimidation through physical force and violence, resembling Red Guards, must stop immediately,' and added, 'We will definitely hold accountable the forces with political motives who are using Busan citizens as front-runners.'
