Police have conducted a raid on the Joint Chiefs of Staff following the presidential office in connection with the 'emergency martial law declaration situation.'
The special investigation team for emergency martial law at the National Police Agency announced on the 11th that they will raid the Joint Chiefs of Staff facilities to secure materials related to the emergency martial law. The Joint Chiefs of Staff noted that discussions are ongoing with the police regarding the raid on facilities and equipment used as the martial law command during the emergency. It is known that the floor below the command control room of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was used as an office for the martial law command during the emergency.
The special investigation team is attempting a raid on the presidential office but has not yet gained entry. Eighteen investigators from the special team arrived at the presidential office's civil complaints office at 11:45 a.m. and presented a search warrant to the Presidential Security Service, indicating President Yoon as a suspect. However, they have not been able to enter as discussions regarding the method of the raid have continued for over four hours with the Presidential Security Service.
The special investigation team is also conducting raids on the Korean National Police Agency, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and the National Assembly Guard. Police Chief Cho Ji-ho, Seoul Police Chief Kim Bong-sik, and National Assembly Guard Chief Mok Hyun-tae are accused of controlling access to the National Assembly on the night of emergency martial law (charged under criminal law, including rebellion).
