Minister Yoo Sung-im met with figures from the nuclear sector and said, “We will strengthen investments in the next-generation nuclear development, including high-temperature gas reactors (HTGR), sodium-cooled fast reactors (SFR), and molten salt reactors (MSR), which will be game changers in the future nuclear power market.”

Minister Yoo attended the '2025 Nuclear Sector New Year Gathering' held at the Westin Chosun Seoul in Jung-gu on the morning of the 10th.

The New Year Gathering was held under the theme 'New Opportunities and Challenges of Nuclear Power for Humanity.' Over 200 key figures from the government and the National Assembly attended, including Minister Yoo and Choi Nam-ho, the second vice minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Choi Won-ho, the Chairperson of the Nuclear Safety Commission.

Minister Yoo noted, “As climate change and global energy supply chain instability require more from nuclear power, global big tech corporations are participating in next-generation nuclear development to provide power for artificial intelligence (AI) servers and data centers.”

He added, “As the global nuclear market is changing rapidly, we will create an innovative ecosystem in which the public and private sectors work together as one team to respond swiftly and flexibly.”
