Samsung Bioepis held an awards ceremony for the 'Research Notebook Competition' at Yonsei University's Sinchon campus and presented excellent plaques and a scholarship worth 10 million won to students from the College of Life Systems on the 7th.
A research notebook is a document that records research results throughout the entire process, from inception to results presentation, and securing intellectual property rights. Samsung Bioepis is educating students on how to prepare research notebooks through agreements with major universities in South Korea and providing scholarships to outstanding students through separate awards ceremonies. There is an expectation that this will enable students to acquire global research and development know-how in advance and cultivate talents who will lead the future bio industry.
Kang Dae-sung, head of the human resources team at Samsung Bioepis (executive director), said, "We plan to steadily expand our industry-academia collaboration activities this year, utilizing the characteristics of the biopharmaceutical industry, to foster broad academic exchanges between global corporations and universities for mutual sustainable development."
Yang Seung-wook, professor and head of the Department of Systems Biology at Yonsei University, noted, "Various industry-academia cooperation programs, including the research notebook competition conducted in collaboration with Samsung Bioepis, will provide students with significant academic challenges and opportunities, serving as a foundation for them to grow into future bio talents."
