The Korea Institute of Fusion Energy announced on the 2nd that it has selected Hong Yong-cheol as the recipient of the 'Proud KFE Award.'

The 'Proud KFE Award' selects the final winner through employee recommendations for exceptional research and job performance over the course of a year, followed by voting among all employees and a review by the personnel committee.

Researcher Hong is an expert in plasma fusion technology, leading innovative research that addresses environmental issues and develops sustainable technologies using plasma.

In particular, Hong received high praise for successfully executing various innovative projects that demonstrate the broad potential of plasma technology, including ultra-purification of effluent using underwater plasma technology, ecological toxicity reduction technology, development of low-cost high-performance carbon fibers, environmentally friendly carbon dioxide supply, and development of atmospheric nitrogen fertilization technology.

Leading the practical application of research outcomes, Hong successfully transferred three core technologies, including plasma generation devices for wastewater treatment and plasma catalytic spraying devices, and filed for 10 patents.
