The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced on the 30th that it has received the first published collection of poetry "Sky, Wind, Stars, and Poetry" by poet Yun Dong-ju as a donation from an anonymous benefactor. The donated first edition is a 1948 version that includes 31 poems from Yun’s handwritten manuscript, which was received directly from his friend, Jeong Byeong-wook, a Korean literature scholar. KAIST plans to exhibit this collection at its art museum for students and members to see.
Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) announced that it held the 2nd Special Committee for Improving Integrity to spread awareness of integrity and anti-corruption. The meeting, held on the 26th, was attended by President Lim Gi-cheol, along with committee Commissioners Kim Hee-sam, head of the Planning Department; Lee Jae-young, head of the Research Department; Jeon Sang-hoon, head of the Administrative Safety Department; Oh Seung-hee, head of the Audit Department; Lee Deuk-jin, Head of Team at the Rights and Human Rights Center; and representatives from various job positions. Based on the results of this meeting, GIST plans to establish a comprehensive integrity enhancement plan for 2025.
The Korean Intellectual Property Office announced that it will work with the Ministry of Environment to foster promising green startups that will lead the future of climate technology. Next year, it will link the newly launching public patent technology utilization climate tech growth support project with the Ministry of Environment's eco-startup support project. The eco-startup support project aims to discover prospective entrepreneurs and startup companies with promising ideas in the green industry sector and assist with idea and technology enhancement.
The National Gwacheon Science Museum announced that it will offer a special science education program over three sessions from January 14 to February 7. This program will offer a total of 62 classes across 20 types, including an information (SW) exploration course, a thematic exploration course, an experimental exploration course, and a creative exploration course. Additionally, the artificial intelligence course, which has been operated in collaboration with KT since last summer vacation, will be offered at an advanced level, and a class called "Play Science," which teaches scientific principles based on theater, will also be introduced.
