Yu Chang-gyeong, a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Inha University, will take office as the 38th president of the Korean Aerospace Society.
The Korean Aerospace Society noted that Professor Yu will assume the presidency on the 1st of next month.
The new president Yu graduated from Inha University with a degree in aerospace engineering in 1989 and earned a master’s and doctoral degree in aerospace engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He later worked at the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) and has been serving as a professor at Inha University since 2006. He has held positions as the director of research and the head of the industry-academia cooperation office at Inha University and has been the head of the Aerospace Industry-Academic Convergence Institute since 2017.
The Korean Aerospace Society is an academic organization founded in 1967 to promote the development of aerospace technology and industry. About 10,000 members from industry, academia, research, government, and the military participate.
