Kyunghee University Hospital's President Lee Woo-in was appointed as the president of the Korean Society for Clinical Pathology on the 26th. The term begins on January 1st of next year and lasts for one year.

Lee graduated from Kyunghee University College of Medicine and obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the same graduate school. He then started working as a clinical fellow in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Kyunghee Medical Center after passing through Samsung Medical Center. At Kyunghee University Hospital, he held major positions such as the head of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, head of the Infection Control Office, and head of the Quality Management Office. In November of last year, he took office as president, becoming the first female president in the history of Kyunghee University Hospital.

In addition, he has been actively involved in external activities as the training commissioner of the Korean Society for Clinical Pathology, a special commissioner for the foundation, an operating committee member and reviewer at the Gene Testing Evaluation Institute, the business department head of the Foundation for Clinical Pathology, and a publicity commissioner for the Korean Society of Hematology. Currently, he serves as a director of the Korean Hospital Association, a member of the Hospital Evaluation Committee, chairperson of the Laboratory Renew Committee of the Korean Society for Clinical Pathology, and auditor of the Korean Society of Diagnostic Genetics.

The Korean Society for Clinical Pathology, of which Lee is the president, began as the Diagnostic Blood Research Group in 2001 and was officially established as an academic organization in 2006. It is composed of domestic clinical pathologists conducting research to standardize diagnostic blood tests and improve accuracy and efficiency.
