A giant eye in the sky is looking down at the ground. Tiny ice crystals in the air reflect light, creating the 'diamond dust' phenomenon that sparkles like jewels. When they encounter sunlight and moonlight, they form a round shape resembling an eye. The sun and the moon appear as brightly shining pupils. This photo taken in the Ore Mountains of the Czech Republic captures the diamond dust created by the moon rising through the icy mist in the early evening. To the left of the photo, lights from a small village shine brightly. The faint light visible just below the moon is Jupiter, while Mars hides behind the round arc.
