■Minister of Science and ICT Yoo Sang-im visited the Korea Energy Technology Institute on the 16th to tour the hydrogen production research facility and discussed the agency's future development direction during a meeting with members of the institute. On that day, Minister Yoo said, "As a national research and development institution, I hope you will seek various measures to break down barriers inside and outside the agency, such as budget and organization flexibility, based on active communication with the members regarding the direction Energy Institute should take."

■The Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology (WISET) announced on the 16th that it will launch the AI recommendation service for job information and talent information on its career growth support platform for women scientists and engineers, W Bridge. The AI recommendation service analyzes the career and job preference information of women scientists and engineers to provide the most suitable job information to job seekers. Additionally, corporations looking to hire women scientists and engineers can register their job information on W Bridge to receive suitable talent recommendations through AI.

■The Southeast Radiation Medical Center held the '2024 Southeast Radiation Medical Center Radiation Emergency Medical Symposium' at the second floor auditorium of the medical center on the 12th. This event was organized to discuss measures for establishing regional hubs for responding to radiation disasters. The first speaker, Director General Jeong Kyu-hwan of the Korea Atomic Energy Safety Technology Institute, presented on the impact of the Fukushima contaminated water discharge, followed by presentations from Jo Min-soo, the center director of the National Radiation Emergency Medical Center, and researcher Kim Hyo-jin from the Southeast Radiation Medical Center.

■The Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) announced that it is actively supporting domestic scientific and technological academic societies with its new academic activity support project for 2024, titled 'International Joint Research and Network Support Project.' The purpose of this project is to support domestic academic societies in expanding their foundations for international scientific and technological cooperation through technology exchange programs. This year, 11 academic societies, including the Korean Geotechnical Society, were selected through a review by an expert committee.
