Professors, students, and labor unions from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) jointly issued a statement urging the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The UNIST faculty-labor union-graduate student-undergraduate student coalition action demanding the impeachment of Yoon Suk Yeol announced on the 11th that it will present a statement urging the president's impeachment at the plaza in front of the UNIST headquarters at noon on the 12th. The statement will involve the UNIST Faculty Council, UNIST Labor Union, and the graduate and undergraduate student councils.

In the statement released that day, they noted, “The unconstitutional state of emergency is an attempt at insurrection against our people and nation,” and “The collusion to arbitrarily share presidential powers is also an act that destroys the Constitution of the Republic of Korea.”

They continued, “We are witnessing the current behavior of a president leading an insurrection and lawmakers destroying the Constitution,” and “We can no longer tolerate a dictator who tramples on democracy to become a king and the political group that seeks to maintain power while destroying the Constitution.”

They demanded, “Immediate impeachment of Yoon Suk Yeol must be carried out, and we call for the restoration of democracy and the establishment of constitutional order without delay,” stating, “Investigate all individuals involved in the insurrection charge promptly and punish them severely.”
