Starting this year, Bum Seok Austin Kim, the new CEO of Woowa Brothers, which operates Baedal Minjok (hereafter referred to as Baemin), stated on the 8th that the company will officially implement a win-win plan that includes reducing commission fees for the delivery app next month.
On this day, during a company-wide announcement held at 'The Great House' in Lotte World Tower, Songpa District, Seoul, Kim noted, “By 2025, I will put Baemin back on a growth trajectory. To achieve this, we must fundamentally change our organization from the perspective of maximizing customer value and enhancing customer experience,” conveying this message. The company-wide announcement is a platform to share and discuss important issues for the company.
To this end, there are plans to redesign the user interface (UI) of the Baemin app. Kim stated, “We need to ask ourselves if we are prioritizing customer experience and whether customers can order their desired food more conveniently than any other app (application),” adding, “The app's UI should focus on enabling customers to conveniently and intuitively select shops and food.
He continued, “Let's further enhance the quality of delivery and customer service,” and added, “We will refine our investments for customers to improve the product structure so that it leads to the growth of the platform.”
Additionally, Kim announced that the win-win plan derived from last year's collaboration between the delivery platform and participating businesses will be implemented next month. To this end, by the end of this month, they will share the implementation timeline of the win-win plan, the criteria for calculating intermediary usage fees, and plans for how small business owners and self-employed individuals using Baemin can benefit from the plan, with the full implementation scheduled for February.
Kim mentioned, “I will seriously consider and implement various ways to grow together with the business owners and riders,” and stated, “This year, I aim for Baemin to be a platform that helps business owners grow their sales and operate their shops efficiently, and for riders, a platform that assists in safe delivery.”
