Kim Jung-su, vice chairman of Samyang Round Square, stated that this year, the group will continue to grow and evolve with a focus on strengthening core competencies and diversifying its business.
In a New Year’s message video directed at employees on the 6th, Kim noted, "It is necessary to focus on doing what we currently do best even better so that no competitor can catch up with us," and added, "This year, we will strongly internalize our global network and production capabilities through increased production, expansion into overseas factories, and localization of production."
He also revealed plans to enhance global business capabilities through portfolio diversification. Kim stated, "This year, we must continue to achieve successful market establishment for 'MEP' globally and diversify the group's brand portfolio through 'Tangle' and 'Jack & Pulse', targeting the health-functional food market, including plant-based proteins." He also mentioned the expansion of major portfolio products such as sources, snacks, convenience foods, and beverages.
Wellness and healthcare were also emphasized. Kim explained that wellness and healthcare are key words for the second future direction for sustainable growth. Samyang Round Square is focusing on projects such as the wellness center at Samyang Round Hill and personalized health improvement services through precise analysis based on digital healthcare. Kim stated, "We will change and leap forward through new attempts to break the boundaries and stereotypes between healthcare and food and to create integrated business synergy."
Finally, Kim emphasized, "The journey of pioneering new value as a 'healthcare company' will be a challenging endeavor, but through this process, we will evolve into a stronger and more flexible organization," urging, "In the new year, let us continue our evolution that will surprise the world, as members of Samyang."
