Yoon Hong-geun, chairman of Genesis BBQ Group, pledged to make 2025 a significant year as it marks the 30th anniversary of the company's founding, laying the groundwork for a leap toward becoming the world's leading franchise corporations.
According to BBQ on the 2nd, Chairman Yoon stated at the New Year's ceremony held the previous day at the Chicken University in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, "In the face of domestic and international uncertainties, let us adopt the mindset of 'Yujigyeongseong' (有志竟成) and seek opportunities to grow into the world's best franchise group."
He noted, "Last year, despite the management environment characterized by geopolitical conflicts and financial market instability, we boldly innovated by advertising our brand in Times Square, New York, and established ourselves as a representative brand that introduces Korean culture to the world through 'K-Food.'"
Prior to the New Year's ceremony, Chairman Yoon expressed his condolences regarding the passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan Airport, wishing for the souls of the deceased and conveying a message of comfort to the bereaved families.
He added, "As we begin 2025, before the national mourning subsides, we are facing an expanded crisis due to the strengthening of protectionist policies with the beginning of the second term of Trump, the prolonged war in Ukraine, and uncertainties in domestic politics and economy," and emphasized, "To achieve the vision that creates opportunities amid the crisis, we will lead a 'boundary-less experience economy.'" This means providing a unique service that leverages BBQ’s own story and strengths for customers who desire experiences with storytelling beyond simple consumption.
Chairman Yoon remarked, "Genesis BBQ Group has grown based on its DNA of differentiating crises into risks and opportunities, and actively seeking opportunities within those crises," adding, "As we are now welcoming new customers in this rapidly changing environment, our organization must also undergo corresponding changes."
