Kim Nam-jeong, chairman of Dongwon Group, urged employees to become game changers in rewriting the rules of the existing market in 2025.
In his New Year’s address on the 2nd, Kim noted, "Dongwon is a corporation that creates new value for society. We have responded to customer needs by challenging ourselves and competing instead of being complacent in reality," and added, "Let’s all return to our original intentions and critically examine what new value we are providing to customers."
He also mentioned the importance of adaptability. He said, "We cannot stop and blame the environment. Adapting to changes and turning them into opportunities is the essence of corporations," and added, "Let’s overcome the emergencies surrounding us and turn them into a driving force for innovation."
He emphasized the importance of talent, stating, "Let’s boldly break away from a culture where superiors only give orders and juniors only follow them," and added, "In the future, the criteria for recruiting and compensating talent at Dongwon will be clear. Let’s try new things and achieve results."
Kim also expressed his ambition to find a growth engine for Dongwon Group this year. He stated, "The company will strive to find a new growth engine and expand its core business," and emphasized, "Let’s seek new opportunities and lead innovation through active cooperation with various external partners with business potential."
He highlighted the importance of digital transformation, saying, "Let’s restructure our existing business portfolio using digital technology and leverage it as a foundation for innovation to understand societal needs," and added, "The company will not spare support and investment to enhance its digital capabilities."
