AliExpress (hereafter referred to as Ali) announced on the 31st that it will end the temporary exemption from commissions for businesses on the K-Venue platform. K-Venue is a channel for sourcing Korean products launched by Ali in October 2023, and at that time, Ali had implemented a commission exemption policy for its partner businesses.

According to Ali, starting February 1, 2025, it plans to apply the industry's lowest commission rates to existing partner businesses. Sellers who register after February 1, 2025, will be exempt from fees for 90 days (approximately 3 months) from their registration date. Small and medium-sized enterprise sellers with an annual gross merchandise volume (GMV) of less than 500 million won can receive a refund of up to 50% of commissions for one store they operate for up to one year.

Ali plans to enhance its platform management capabilities and improve the service experience for sellers and consumers through commission reinvestments. Additionally, it will provide benefits for sellers, such as the so-called "1 billion won Festa," which offers 1 billion won worth of shopping subsidies, and will support online training for sellers every week.

RAY, the CEO of Ali Korea, said, "We have announced a new commission policy aimed at sustainable development in the domestic e-commerce industry and collaboration with our domestic (Korean) seller partners, including small and medium-sized enterprises." He added, "We will adapt to the rapidly growing and evolving market while enhancing the services we provide on our platform and improving the experiences of both sellers and consumers." He continued, "We will do our best to create a win-win platform where both sellers and consumers can grow together."
