Lotte announced on the 20th that it will hold the '2024 Diversity Forum' at the Lotte Human Resources Development Institute's Osan campus. This year's theme is 'Be in harmony; Inclusion,' which aims to share the need for the spread and internalization of a culture that embraces diversity for sustainable growth.
The Diversity Forum is an event that expands the meaning of the existing women-focused 'WOW: Way of Women' Forum, which has been held since 2021, to encompass diversity across four key areas: gender, generation, physicality, and culture. As Chairman Shin Dong-bin emphasized the value of diversity, Lotte established the 'Lotte Group Diversity Charter' in 2013, which formalizes respect for diversity and the eradication of discrimination, applying the value of diversity throughout group management.
The forum will be attended by Lee Dong-woo, Vice Chairman and CEO of Lotte Holdings, Kim Hee-cheon, Director of the Lotte Human Resources Development Institute, Park Du-hwan, Head of HR Innovation at Lotte Holdings, as well as HR executives from affiliated companies. Over 1,000 employees from diverse backgrounds, including female leaders, new Heads of Team, juniors, foreigners, and individuals with disabilities, will participate in the forum both on-site and online.
At this forum, Lotte will share its policy direction for expanding and embracing diversity within the organization. Additionally, there will be expert lectures and panel discussions on inclusivity. A conversation involving employees and external experts will also take place on the roles of leaders and followers in creating an inclusive culture.
Lee Dong-woo, Vice Chairman and CEO of Lotte Holdings, said, 'I hope this forum will be an opportunity to share the results of our efforts to establish diversity as part of our organizational culture and to discuss the direction we should move forward.' He noted that he expects Lotte Group to use diversity and inclusion as driving forces to overcome challenges and crises, advancing toward a greater future.
