The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will recruit applicants for purchased rental housing for young people and newlywed or newborn families in 13 cities and provinces nationwide starting from the 26th. The purchased rental housing will be supplied by local urban corporations, including Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH), Gyeonggi Housing and Communities Corporation (GH), and Incheon Urban Corporation (iH).
The recruitment scale includes 1,652 units for young people and 1,475 units for newlywed and newborn families, totaling 3,127 units. After validating the qualifications of applicants, they can move in as early as the end of March next year.
Purchased rental housing for young people is targeted at single young people without housing, and they can reside for up to 10 years at a rental price of 40-50% of the market rate. The purchased rental housing for newlywed and newborn families is divided into the ▲Newlywed and Newborn I type (989 units), which is offered at 30-40% of the market rate, and the ▲Newlywed and Newborn II type (486 units), which is offered at 70-80% of the market rate.
For the Newlywed and Newborn I type, the eligibility condition is that the average monthly income per household of urban workers is 70% (90% for dual-income households) or less, while the Newlywed and Newborn II type's eligibility condition is 100% (120% for dual-income households) or less.
Newborn families will be prioritized as first-choice applicants. A newborn family is defined as a household that has a child born within the last two years (including adopted children) or has a fetus confirmed by a pregnancy certificate from the date of the recruitment announcement.
Newlywed couples within seven years of marriage, prospective newlywed couples, and households raising children under the age of 6 can also apply for the recruitment of applicants for purchased rental housing for newlywed and newborn families.
Most of the purchased rental housing recruitment is conducted by LH, which can be found on LH Subscription Plus (https://apply.lh.or.kr) starting from the 26th. LH will recruit 1,243 units for young people and 1,425 units for newlywed and newborn families. The purchased rental housing being recruited by SH and others (459 units) can be confirmed on each respective organization's website.
Kim Do-gon, head of the Housing Welfare Support Division at the Ministry of Land and Transportation, noted, "We will make every effort to ensure that young people and newlywed couples can live with peace of mind in newly built purchased rental housing, thereby alleviating their housing burden."
