Minister Park Sang-woo of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on the 24th, "To ensure housing stability for seniors, this year, we plan to diversify the supply methods of senior housing, aiming to supply 3,000 units, which is three times more than last year, and we will do our best to achieve this goal by the end of the year."

On this day, Minister Park held a meeting with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) at the Bangdong Welfare Housing for Seniors, located in Bundoong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and noted, "With the anticipated entry into a super-aged society next year, and as the number of elderly people facing difficulties in housing increases, there is a need for a sufficient supply of quality dwellings for seniors."

The Ministry is supplying senior housing through construction leasing, purchase leasing, and remodeling. In the construction leasing method, 750 units were selected through a public offering in the first half of the year, and 310 units are currently accepting applications for the second half. For purchase leasing, it selected 250 units (estimated) for constant purchase, 490 units for the first public offering, and 204 units for the second public offering. The supply through remodeling is 1,000 units.

Minister Park stated that the health support centers in welfare facilities will continue to strengthen services that combine housing and health. He emphasized, "In the future, senior-customized housing services primarily provided by the public sector will also be supplied by the private sector through services like SILVERSTAY, and the government will actively work to ensure that seniors can live comfortably and healthily in their old age without housing worries, while firmly pursuing housing welfare policies aimed at the elderly and low-income groups."
