Medium-sized Enterprises Day is an event co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises to honor the achievements of corporations that contribute to national economic and industrial development and to spread the value of continuous corporate growth.

This year, the theme is 'Dynamic innovative growth, medium-sized corporations will take the lead!' and the Growth Tower for Medium-sized Corporations was awarded to outstanding firms that have grown from small and medium enterprises (SME) to medium-sized corporations. Notably, this year, an evaluation criterion for social responsibility pertaining to the implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management has been added, in addition to entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, and the discovery of new growth engines.

YIDO is an environmental corporation focusing on waste treatment and renewable energy. Its revenue increased from approximately 205 billion won in 2021 to 330 billion won last year, marking an external growth of about 1.6 times.

Currently, it operates an industrial waste treatment value chain that processes 14,000 tons per day, encompassing waste collection, transportation, intermediate treatment, recycling, incineration, and landfill across the country, including Jeju.

A 70-megawatt solar power generation project is also underway in the tidal land of Dangjin. Additionally, there is a project to establish a wind power complex totaling 400 megawatts near Guleop-ri, Ongjin-gun, Incheon, about 44 kilometers to the west. YIDO is also nurturing renewable energy projects, including entry into the bio gas sector, which is attracting attention as a next-generation eco-friendly business.

CEO Choi Jeong-hoon of YIDO said, 'As an environmental corporation, we are achieving growth every year with the surrounding stakeholders,' and noted, 'In the future, we will actively promote renewable energy projects for carbon neutrality and implement ESG management.'
