I have 80 documents saved, and I want to find specific information. Please scan through all these documents and let me know the negative evaluations about Jordan.

On the 19th of last month (local time) at the HP's largest annual event, the Amplify Conference 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, when a request was input into HP's artificial intelligence (AI) PC 'Omnibook X' without connecting to the internet, a response appeared in less than 5 seconds.

According to the provided context, there are no explicitly listed negative evaluations of Jordan Tate. 72% rated it positively, and 18% expressed neutral opinions.

This is a feature utilizing HP's own AI system, 'AI Companion.' An on-device AI that processes data internally without sending it to external servers can perform real-time translations in 40 languages and analyze files even without internet access.

At this year's Amplify event, HP unveiled the industry's largest lineup of AI PC products. The AI features that were previously applied only to high-end models have now been expanded to mid-range and low-cost PCs starting this year. The AI automatically optimizes battery and driver performance, resulting in battery life approximately four times longer than existing PCs.

Samuel Chang, HP's senior vice president and president of consumer PC solutions, and Jonathan Willner, HP's consumer product management vice president, stated in an interview with ChosunBiz, "It's only a matter of time before consumers choose AI PCs." Before joining HP in 2023, Chang led the smart TV webOS integration project at LG Electronics, and Willner was in charge of software and services at Fitbit, overseeing its sale to Google. Below is a Q&A with them.

Why do you believe consumers will choose AI PCs?

Chang said, "Upgrading an existing PC to an AI PC results in a performance improvement of 30-50%. Often, when watching videos or making calls on a laptop, the battery lasts less than 4 hours, but with an AI PC, you can use it for over 10 hours. Nowadays, children spend more time talking with friends on apps like Zoom or Discord on computers than on their phones. It's like being able to buy a car that drives 3-4 times longer for the same money. So most people will naturally choose this."

Willner said, "The built-in AI features that can be utilized in AI PCs are limitless. Consumers have become accustomed to cloud-based AI like ChatGPT or Copilot, but now, with the emergence of low-cost, high-efficiency local AI models like DeepSeek, the perception that 'it's not necessary to depend on the cloud' is spreading. They are looking for ways to easily and comfortably use AI on their own PC."

Most PC manufacturers are introducing AI PCs, but what’s the differentiator? There are criticisms that AI features unnecessarily inflate product prices.

Willner said, "In reality, there are many cases where AI is showcased for marketing purposes only, like AI washing. Therefore, HP focuses on providing the highest performance per watt and the longest battery life. The key is to focus on what consumers actually want. We introduced OLED panels across the entire AI PC lineup to enhance the display experience and incorporated the 'AI Companion' in software to allow for analyzing and searching local files or documents directly on the PC."

Chang said, "There are many features that use AI without explicitly emphasizing 'AI.' For example, analyzing the device's temperature and environment to optimize performance or maintaining the appropriate drivers and settings for the user’s system. In the gaming PC 'Omen,' AI automatically optimizes game settings to achieve the best frame rates during first-person shooter gaming. All these AI features are not directly visible to the user, but they help the product operate longer, faster, and more reliably. Users may not know which large language model or algorithms are at work, but they can clearly feel the benefits."

With generative AI services like ChatGPT already being diverse, is the analytical capability of the 'AI Companion' widely used?

Chang said, "The analytical capabilities of the AI Companion do not replace ChatGPT. For knowledge searches, using cloud-based AI services like ChatGPT or Claude is far more suitable. However, for instance, if you have an 80-page document and need to create a proposal from it, that's where the AI Companion working on-device can be helpful. It allows you to quickly ask questions and receive answers based on the documents stored on the PC, with clear sources that minimize the possibility of hallucinations."

What is the trend in the PC market this year?

Willner said, "This year, with the end of 'Windows 10,' affordable AI PCs are emerging, which is positive for the market. However, there is also a significant uncertainty in macroeconomic factors like tariffs. One thing is clear: the structure of the PC industry is changing dramatically. With Qualcomm's entry into the PC market, app compatibility has greatly improved, opening a market that is completely different from 5-7 years ago."

Chang said, "AI is fundamentally changing the way humans interact with computers. While traditional PCs relied on keyboard interactions, AI PCs will lead a trend toward multimodal interactions like voice and gestures in the future."

AI PCs give humans a kind of superpower. They are a game-changer in creative fields like video editing and music production. Computers are becoming increasingly personalized. Just as mobile phone designs, once dominated by black, have diversified, various experiments will continue in PCs.
