The Netmarble labor union recently held a rally in response to the large-scale reassignment and standby orders for the "Demis Ribbon" development team at its subsidiary Netmarble F&C.

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions’ Chemical Fiber Food Workers’ Union held a press conference on the 9th in front of Netmarble's headquarters in Guro District, Seoul, and noted, "Stop the hasty forced reassignment and restructuring through standby orders."

According to the union, Netmarble F&C reduced about 22 out of 81 staff members working on the upcoming project "Demis Ribbon" earlier this year, which is about a quarter of the development team.

The union explained, "To date, 17 employees from the 'Demis Ribbon' team have been reassigned, and 5 have received standby orders, but there is a significant concern that additional restructuring may occur in the future."

It added that this action was primarily directed at individuals who expressed negative views on the current direction of work by the Art Director (AD), irrespective of personnel or performance evaluations, and stated, "We suspect this is a retaliatory action influenced by the AD."

The union demanded that the management disclose specific criteria and procedures for selecting individuals for reassignment and establish sufficient prior consultation and feedback processes before making reassignment decisions.

Netmarble F&C stated that the recent reorganization of the Demis Ribbon team was a measure taken during the process of realigning the game's development direction.
