Nexon and Supercat's 'Hwansechwihojeon Online,' which was being developed in collaboration, has been suspended after more than two years since its first reveal. Nexon stated that it decided to end development, concluding that the market potential was insufficient after comprehensively considering the results of the closed beta test (CBT) and market reactions.
According to the gaming industry on the 8th, Supercat recently dismantled the 'Hwansechwihojeon Online' development team and deleted related content from its official website. This game was reinterpreted as a mobile RPG based on the 1997 game of the same name by Compile, Inc.
Supercat handled the development, while Nexon took charge of publishing, unveiling it for the first time at G-Star in November 2022. Last year, a closed beta test (CBT) was also conducted.
Founded in 2016, Supercat achieved success in the domestic market by launching 'Baramui Nara: Yeon' in collaboration with Nexon in 2020. Subsequently, Nexon acquired equity from Line Games, increasing its ownership stake to 19% and continuing the partnership.
