KRAFTON announced on the 7th that it has unveiled the artificial intelligence (AI) innovation technology 'CPC (Co-Playable Character)', co-developed with NVIDIA, at the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition, 'CES 2025', held in Las Vegas, United States.

CPC is an AI-based character that can interact with users, cooperate, and adapt flexibly to situations, unlike the existing non-player characters (NPCs). This technology is built on NVIDIA's 'ACE' (On-device SLM for Gaming), a game-specialized on-device small language model. KRAFTON plans to expand the application of this technology to various games, including the PUBG IP franchise and the new title 'inZOI'.

Through this technology unveiling, KRAFTON showcased a new gaming experience utilizing AI and suggested a future direction for the global gaming industry.

KRAFTON CEO Chang-han Kim said, 'CES 2025 is a meaningful venue to showcase the AI technology jointly developed by KRAFTON and NVIDIA,' adding, 'We will continue to expand user experiences with differentiated technologies based on AI, including CPC, opening a new future for the gaming industry through our collaboration with NVIDIA.'

Keita Iida, vice president of NVIDIA, noted, 'AI is changing game development and play styles,' and said, 'Through NVIDIA's ACE technology, we were able to implement CPC, providing innovative and unique experiences in KRAFTON's various games.'
