Lee Cheong, president of Samsung Display, cited 2025 as a 'turning point for business expansion' in his New Year's address on the 2nd, presenting 'A.C.E' as this year's management keywords, which signifies 'swift and perfect execution (Action),' 'customer value as the top priority (Customer),' and 'secured differentiated technology (Excellence).'
In the New Year's address delivered to all employees on that day, Lee emphasized, 'This year is a period more important than ever, as we must achieve the completion of foldable technology, secure mass production technology for 8.6G IT OLED, and expand the IT and Auto businesses.' He noted, 'This year, due to factors such as deepening trade barriers, delayed economic recovery, and intensified competition, uncertainty will also be higher than ever,' and presented strengthening technology, customers, and execution as specific goals.
Regarding technology, he urged creating entry barriers that competitors cannot easily follow by establishing differentiated performance and manufacturing competitiveness based on accumulated know-how and technological prowess, while also discovering new technologies that can add value to existing products. He stated that a system must be in place to rigorously prepare future technologies, allowing for immediate commercialization at the desired time in the market.
He also emphasized that leaders should take the initiative to establish a growth-oriented organizational culture by first proposing customer needs that even customers may not have recognized and creating an environment conducive to horizontal communication, collaboration, and quick decision-making to realize these needs.
Lee said, 'Based on the fundamental philosophy that starts with technology, continues with customers, and is completed through execution, let us all harmoniously and wisely overcome difficulties and create a 2025 where we grow one step further.'
