The LCK held the 2024 LCK Awards the previous day at the Art Hall 1 of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul. He further noted, 'There was an aircraft disaster this morning' and mentioned that he felt it was important to comment on it and express condolences, which he did first during the special award announcement.
He reflected, 'I did not show a good performance during the summer and MSI seasons, and it was most difficult when I was waiting for an uncertain future,' adding, 'However, I am glad that I overcame it well, and achieving good results and winning at the World Championship is what I remember the most.'
Faker also mentioned, 'The LCK Cup was newly established and the regular season was integrated,' adding, 'The LCK Cup will be conducted through a fearless draft, which should make it enjoyable to watch.'
On that day, in addition to the best player award, Faker achieved a triple crown by winning the ▲OP.GG Search King award and the ▲Mid Player of the Year award.
