NHN's senior care subsidiary ‘Waflat’ announced on the 27th that it will officially launch the artificial intelligence (AI)-based elder care platform ‘Waflat AI Senior Safe Care’ in Seoul's Seocho District and Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, beginning next year.

Waflat signed memorandums of understanding (MOU) with Yongin City and Seocho District in April and May and has piloted the service for elderly care personnel and seniors in local government care settings. This marks the first time that Waflat AI Senior Safe Care will be introduced as an official service in local government projects.

The mobile app-based ‘Waflat AI Senior Safe Care’ offers smart care services in four areas: ▲ ‘Daily & Safety Care’ checks well-being through AI-based notifications; ▲ ‘Safety Care’ provides SOS emergency alerts based on mobile phone movement detection; ▲ ‘Health Care’ includes health consultations from medical professionals, medication reminders, cardiovascular health checks, and cognitive function tests; ▲ ‘Leisure Care’ features games, fortune-telling, and schedule management.

A Waflat representative noted, “The transition to an official project in less than a year since we began the pilot service in the field indicates that local governments have recognized the effectiveness of the service.” They added, “We will do our best to ensure that ‘Waflat AI Senior Safe Care’ can establish itself as a core service leading the digitalization of elder care in local government settings.”
