Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th that 3 out of 10 customers who purchased home appliances at the Samsung Store used the 'AI Subscription Club.'
According to Samsung Electronics on that day, 30% of the home appliances sold at the Samsung Store over the past three weeks since the 1st of this month were delivered through subscriptions. Samsung Electronics has been operating the 'AI Subscription Club' in all 168 nationwide Samsung Store locations and on Samsung.com since the 1st.
Examining the sales proportions of the subscription club, refrigerators accounted for 17%, kimchi refrigerators 15%, and washing machines 16%, indicating a high subscription rate for refrigerators in line with the kimjang season. The increase in subscribers is attributed to reduced initial purchasing expenses and the fact that over 90% of products consist of AI devices.
Additionally, various plans such as 'All-in-One' and 'Smart' are available to allow customers to freely select care services according to their lifestyles. The 'All-in-One' plan combines products with free repair services, offering options like on-site care and self-care that can be selectively bundled, with the dedicated 'AI Subscription Club Samsung Card' available for use for up to 60 months, and early cancellation is possible.
The free repair service refers to a service that provides free repairs for performance or functional defects that occur under normal usage conditions, even after the warranty period, during the subscription period. This service is offered only upon joining the new subscription care for the AI All-in-One plan or AI Smart plan.
The 'Smart' plan is characterized by allowing consumers to select only the desired services with the purchase of a product, with options for free repair services and care services available separately, and durations can be chosen as either 36 months or 60 months. Under the smart plan subscription, products can be purchased in a lump sum or through installment payments for up to 60 months, and early cancellation is not allowed. However, care services can be terminated at the desired time without additional penalties if the customer wishes.
A representative of Samsung Electronics said, "We sincerely thank many customers who have shown interest in the 'AI Subscription Club,'" adding, "In the future, we will continue to upgrade products, plans, care services, and partnership benefits of the 'AI Subscription Club' to enhance consumer convenience and lead the AI appliance subscription market."
