Samsung Electronics is holding a global strategy meeting by institutional sector starting today, focusing on next year's business strategy.

According to the industry on the 17th, Samsung Electronics will hold a global strategy meeting for three days, starting today, to discuss next year's business plan. On this day, the Device Experience (DX) institutional sector and the Mobile Experience (MX) division will hold their meetings, followed by the Video Display (VD) and Home Appliance (DA) divisions on the 18th. The Device Solutions (DS) institutional sector responsible for semiconductors will hold its meeting on the 19th.

The Samsung Electronics global strategy meeting occurs twice a year in June and December, where domestic and international executives gather to share current issues by institutional sector and region. Han Jong-hee, head of the DX institutional sector (vice chairman), and Jeon Young-hyun, head of the DS institutional sector (vice chairman), will preside over the respective meetings. It is reported that Lee Jae-yong, chairman, will not attend this year's meeting but will be briefed on the institutional sector strategy.

This meeting is expected to discuss strategies for expanding sales by product, risk hedging strategies in response to high exchange rates, and more. The MX division, led by Roh Tae-moon, head of the division (president), is expected to focus on sales strategies for the first half lineup, including the Galaxy S25.

In the case of the TV and home appliance business, it is reported that there are plans to review the new products to be showcased at the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition, CES 2025, along with the operational plans for each product.

For the DS institutional sector, it is estimated that discussions will seek solutions to restore fundamental competitiveness across the semiconductor business, including High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) among major divisions. As uncertainties surrounding the semiconductor industry increase, especially with intensifying U.S.-China conflicts ahead of the Donald Trump administration's second term in office, discussions are expected to prepare measures to minimize risks next year.

LG Electronics will also hold a company-wide expanded management meeting on the 20th, presided over by CEO Cho Joo-wan. LG Electronics holds CEO-led expanded management meetings in both the first and second halves of the year.

Like previous years, approximately 300 executives will attend the meeting, including management from LG Electronics' headquarters and each institutional sector, overseas representatives, and corporate heads, either on-site or online.
