Oh Youngju, Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, visited Jeju, the host city, to inspect preparations ahead of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting on Small and Medium Enterprises, she noted on the 28th.
The APEC Ministerial Meeting on Small and Medium Enterprises is a gathering for ministers responsible for small and medium enterprises from member countries in the region to discuss key issues. In 2025, South Korea will serve as the APEC chair and hold the meeting in Jeju from Sept. 1 to 5.
Minister Oh visited the Jeju International Convention Center, where the meeting will take place, to check the event venue and accompanying facilities, and reportedly instructed to ensure thorough preparations. She also inspected the on-site visit program to promote the innovation of our small and medium enterprises by visiting Jeju Beer Company and Osulloc Tea Museum.
Minister Oh stated, “Jeju possesses innovative small and medium enterprises based on regional characteristics, making it the optimal location for holding the APEC Ministerial Meeting on Small and Medium Enterprises,” and added, “As the 2025 APEC gets underway, we will widely promote the innovation and excellence of our small and medium enterprises.”
