Chey Seung-jae, the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) ombudsman, said on the 10th, "In the new year of 2025, I will continuously push for regulatory improvements and solutions to difficulties that can be empathized with and felt in the field."

During his 'New Year’s greeting' on the same day, Ombudsman Chey noted, "Many SMEs and small business owners are having a difficult time due to uncertainties in the global economy, protectionism, and economic slowdown," and added, "I sincerely respect your efforts and dedication that have continued to operate your businesses despite the challenging management environment."

He continued, "I will resolve chronic regulations and difficulties that have not been solved for a long time and will extensively reorganize hidden regulations in the field," emphasizing, "I will also focus on improving various local regulations that make it difficult for SMEs and small business owners in consultation with local governments."

He stated, "Even in times of disasters and economic crises, I will actively communicate with various associations and organizations to ensure that small business owners and corporations do not face additional difficulties due to regulations, and I will closely consult with related ministries," adding, "I will provide a stable management environment that is practically helpful for corporate activities."

Ombudsman Chey said, "The small and medium-sized enterprises ombudsman will continue to faithfully fulfill its role as a partner working together with SMEs and small business owners," and urged, "You, the business owners and small business owners who create change and innovation even in difficult environments, are always welcome to seek out the ombudsman."
