Hyundai Motor Company is launching the industry's first online automobile sales service on Amazon, the largest e-commerce platform in the United States. Hyundai Motor Company expects the time taken to purchase a car to be significantly reduced to about 15 minutes.

According to Hyundai Motor Group on the 8th, Hyundai Motor Company’s U.S. sales subsidiary officially began automobile sales through the Amazon site on the 7th (local time). Previously, Hyundai Motor Company announced its strategic partnership with Amazon at the 2023 Los Angeles (LA) Auto Show in November and first conveyed its plans for vehicle sales through Amazon.

After about a year of preparation, the two companies established a system in the 'Amazon Autos' corner where consumers can purchase cars. Some automakers, including Tesla, have already begun selling vehicles exclusively online. This marks the first instance of Hyundai Motor Company selling finished cars on Amazon.

Consumers can log onto Amazon and search for vehicle models, trims, colors, and features available for purchase in the autos institutional sector all at once. After selecting a vehicle, they can quickly complete their online order through a simple procedure with just a few clicks, according to Hyundai Motor Company. They plan to emphasize the ease of purchasing a vehicle with the advertising slogan 'Add to Cart.'

Jose Munoz, president of Hyundai Motor Company, noted in an interview with Bloomberg TV that 'the time required for purchasing a car will be shortened to about 15 minutes,' and 'this demonstrates our efforts to redefine the future of automobile retailing, as well as automobile marketing and purchasing methods.' Hyundai Motor Company expects that by the end of the 2020s, sales from this online platform approach will account for 30% of total sales in the United States.
