Eun Soo-hyung, chairman of SeAH Group (SeAH Holdings), said on the 2nd, “We must not shrink back in the face of high volatility and unpredictable market trends, and we should strengthen our competitiveness in manufacturing with a long-term perspective and accelerate our efforts to seize advanced technologies.” He evaluated the business environment last year as an 'unprecedented multiple hardship,' stating that this year also appears bleak due to the era of super uncertainty.

In his 2025 New Year’s address, he noted, “The tougher the times, the more it is necessary to arm ourselves with strong determination, positive thinking, and a spirit of proactive challenge.” He added, “We need the wisdom of a snake that can sensitively detect changes in the environment, endure suffering, shed its old skin, and adapt to the environment.” He emphasized that it is essential to actively respond to the increasingly volatile business environment and seize opportunities for reversal amid difficulties, creating fruitful outcomes from adversity.

He explained, “This year, instead of expectations and hopes for the new year, concerns about the era of super uncertainty take precedence.” He pointed out that the global trade conditions are expected to become even more stringent, starting with the launch of the new U.S. administration, and noted that the steel industry, which has not found incentives to escape its prolonged stagnation, faces a very bleak path ahead.

He urged, “Although the changes and challenges in the market come as significant difficulties, let’s use them as a springboard for leapfrogging, growing our future faster, higher, and more certainly by pooling the collective intelligence of all SeAH employees.” He stressed that, as history tells us, the irreplaceable competitiveness built by SeAH will shine brighter during tough times rather than during periods of prosperity, and it will serve as a steadfast support for us in the face of the coming multifaceted crises.

He expressed, “Just as tempered steel becomes stronger, I am confident that change and trials will make us more resilient.” He added, “We have the strength to endure numerous storms over the past 65 years and achieve solid growth. Let’s work together to make this year a turning point of new growth recorded in the history of SeAH for the years to come.”
