Choi Joo-sun, president of Samsung SDI, said on the 2nd, "In times like this, we must return to the basics and continuously innovate and challenge ourselves to create a company centered on 'technological capability.'"
In his New Year message for 2025, Choi noted, "This year, the management environment is expected to be more severe than ever due to the expansion of uncertainties following the inauguration of the Trump administration's second term and the ongoing international instability that has not yet been resolved."
Choi urged employees to "carefully sense what the market wants and strengthen technology and quality from the customer's perspective." In particular, he emphasized, "Our survival depends on securing future technological capability. Technology is hope," and said, "We must proactively discover technologies that can change the world and prepare to ride the supercycle."
Regarding the management environment and performance from last year, Choi evaluated, "There were many difficulties due to the slowdown in growth in the upstream market, including electric vehicles," but also noted, "We achieved some results, such as strengthening partnerships with customers, enhancing cost competitiveness, and developing technology to prepare for the future."
He continued, "Let’s eliminate unnecessary processes and enhance efficiency while striving to create a robust organizational culture based on trust and communication, ensuring compliance with laws in all our work processes."
He added, "I will take the lead in deliberating and implementing these efforts, and if all employees actively participate, 2025 will be a year of renewed leaps forward."
