Hyundai Steel announced on the 31st that it has donated 1,004 blood donation certificates from its employees to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation in celebration of the year-end.
On Dec. 24, Hyundai Steel held a delivery ceremony on the 4th floor of the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation's Seoul Naum Pediatric Cancer Center in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, where it delivered the 1,004 blood donation certificates collected by its employees. The donated blood donation certificates were gathered through voluntary blood donations by Hyundai Steel employees. They are planned to be used to support vulnerable pediatric cancer patients who face difficulties in receiving transfusions due to chemotherapy and other reasons.
On June 11, Hyundai Steel entered into a 'Life Sharing Company Business Agreement' with the Southern Seoul Blood Center in observance of its founding anniversary and World Blood Donor Day, and has been conducting a company-wide blood donation campaign for six months to establish a blood donation culture.
This donation was also made as part of the agreement. Hyundai Steel arranged for blood donation buses to visit each establishment, allowing employees to conveniently participate in blood donation, and has encouraged active participation by holding various events, such as providing souvenirs to participants and conducting a lottery event for those who donate their blood donation certificates.
A Hyundai Steel official noted, 'Over the past six months, we have continued active blood donation activities across the country, including at our headquarters,' and added, 'Blood donation is not just a simple contribution but a practice of sharing life. We will fulfill our social responsibility through continuous campaigns in the future.'
