Kim E-bae, the representative of Jeju Air, held a press conference at 2 p.m. on the 29th at the Seoul Mayfield Hotel and noted, “A task force was established immediately after the accident and is currently responding to it,” adding, “As of now, the priority is on accident recovery and support for the bereaved families.”
Kim stated, “We are currently identifying the cause of the accident, and as it requires investigation by government agencies, we cannot reveal the cause at this time. We are monitoring the situation through government announcements.” He also asserted that there are no defects in Jeju Air's aircraft.
Regarding support for the bereaved families, Kim said, “We have identified that most of the bereaved families live near Muan, and if there are any who are coming from Seoul, we will provide transportation.”

The statement said, “I bow my head and apologize to everyone who loves Jeju Air. Above all, I express my deep condolences and apologies to the passengers who lost their lives in the accident and their families.” It continued, “Currently, it is difficult to assess the cause of the accident, and we must wait for the official investigation announcement from the relevant government agencies,” and added, “Regardless of the cause of the accident, I take full responsibility as the CEO.”
Kim stated, “We will do our utmost for a swift recovery from the accident and support for the families of the passengers. Additionally, we will work diligently with the government to determine the cause of the accident.”
