The Ministry of National Defense on the 29th stated that it convened an emergency response team and established a disaster response headquarters to address the passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan Airport in Jeollanam-do.
The Ministry of National Defense noted that it is implementing necessary measures to quickly support the scene by assessing military support needs, such as medical and rescue personnel.
According to the military, more than 180 personnel from the Army's regional units and the Rapid Response Unit of the Special Warfare Command, as well as support personnel and equipment including military fire trucks and ambulances, have been deployed to the scene.
Military helicopters and other forces are on standby to be deployed immediately if needed.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff also stated that the Ministry of National Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff are closely cooperating with relevant ministries to actively support available forces related to the Muan Airport accident.
