KY Private Equity (KY PE), a subsidiary of Brain Asset Management, noted on the 6th that it has appointed Jang Sung-eun, the former head of Global Investment Banking at Shinhan Bank, as the new CEO. Jang started his work at KY PE on his first day on the same day.

The new CEO, Jang, is a specialist who has worked in investment banking (IB) for nearly 30 years since joining Shinhan Bank in 1995. He has served as the head of the Hong Kong IB Center at Shinhan Bank, Director General of the Investment Finance Department, and head of the Global IB Finance Division.

With Jang's inauguration, KY PE plans to reorganize its structure into two operating headquarters centered around Executive Vice President Yoo Hyeok-sang and Senior Vice President Jeon Seung-ha, enhancing its investment capabilities. The company also plans to hire additional investment managers and risk management personnel.

KY PE is a domestic private equity fund (PEF) operator that gained recognition for its $500 million pre-initial public offering (IPO) equity investment in SK Pharmteco in 2023. KY PE manages project funds such as "KY Global Cell Engine" and "KY Global Cell Engine No. 2."
