The Korea Institute of Certified Public Accountants noted on the 3rd that it will introduce an artificial intelligence (AI) service called 'ChatCPA (Beta)' for members only, which provides accounting and tax specialized knowledge.
This is the first AI service that members can practically use, developed as a project in collaboration between the Korea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Young Certified Public Accountants Society.
The beta version contains accounting standards such as K-IFRS, query response data, and approximately 260,000 tax-related precedents and legal interpretations. Additionally, specialized information needed for practical work will be continuously added.
Accounting and tax-related standards and laws are revised annually, and in some cases, they may change within six months. This service significantly reduces the time required for information retrieval and analysis by quickly reflecting these revisions. It also provides reliable answers by clearly stating the sources and grounds of the responses generated by the large language model (LLM) to questions written in natural language.
In particular, it has greatly increased user confidence by providing fast and precise answers using a hybrid search technology called semantic search, which combines text search and vector search. Semantic search is a search engine technology that interprets the searcher's intent as well as the meaning of words and phrases to find relevant content.
Chairman Choi Woon-yeol said, “AI is a powerful tool that supports more efficient and professional execution of accounting work. In the future, the ability to utilize AI will become an essential competency for accountants,” adding, “The Korea Institute of Certified Public Accountants will continue to provide various support so that accountants can enhance their work efficiency through AI and create greater value.”
The Korea Institute of Certified Public Accountants plans to accelerate digital innovation using AI technology and present a new paradigm in the field of accounting and tax as it launches this beta version. It aims to actively incorporate members' feedback to enhance the service, ensuring that members can proactively respond to changing environments and improve productivity through practical and innovative support.
