The artificial intelligence (AI) technology corporation CrowdWorks announced on the 20th that its entity 'Candy Camera,' which holds a 9.1% equity stake, has started a paid subscription service.

Candy Camera is a mobile camera application that has been downloaded by over 300 million users since its launch in 2013. In addition to the existing sticker and filter features, AI facial recognition technology developed by CrowdWorks has been added.

The paid subscription service released by Candy Camera this time is a product that allows unlimited use of all functions of Candy Camera without advertisement exposure. The monthly subscription fee is 4,900 won, and the annual subscription fee is 29,900 won, reflecting a 49% discount to commemorate the service launch.

Candy Camera plans to add various subscription products through additional AI features currently under development by CrowdWorks. Currently, Candy Camera has AI functions such as ▲ AI fortune-telling ▲ AI hair, skin, and makeup ▲ augmented reality (AR) fitting.

Regarding the AI fortune-telling service, it plans to introduce functionality in Japanese and Chinese following Korean and English. The AR fitting service is preparing a feature that allows users to try on various products and directly purchase them from e-commerce.

Recently, CrowdWorks made a strategic investment (SI) in Candy Plus Studio, which operates Candy Camera, and is also promoting the expansion of e-commerce business partnerships, including technological support for AI.
